[MiKTeX] MikTex 2.9 Failing to Update since beginning of November

[Prof. Alceu Frigeri]

Hello you all,

since November I’m no longer able to update my MiKTeX (2.9, 64 bits, windows
10) installation.

At first I thought it was something to do with the ‘massive November
update’,

But November has come and gone and I’m still unable to update anything.



Any ideas of what to do/check?



It doesn’t matter If I point to an specific site, or just let it choose the
‘best one’…

BTW, using the update app

I always get an ‘error message window’, saying:

Thank You for the support and replies!

Anyway, today I was about to try to uninstall and re-install miktex, but,
before that, I tried, a last time, to update it.
And, it finally worked...kind of.

It finally connected to the server, uninstalled all those miktex-***
packages that were 'deprecated'.... all good,
Until I tried to compile a latex file.
Now, NOTHING WORKs, the graphics package is broken, the inputenc package is
broken, xcolor package is broken.
(those are the ones I found problems so far...)

Thank You for the support and replies!

Anyway, today I was about to try to uninstall and re-install miktex, but,
before that, I tried, a last time, to update it.
And, it finally worked...kind of.

It finally connected to the server, uninstalled all those miktex-***
packages that were 'deprecated'.... all good, Until I tried to compile a
latex file.
Now, NOTHING WORKs, the graphics package is broken, the inputenc package is
broken, xcolor package is broken.
(those are the ones I found problems so far...)

I just tried to uninstall it: it's completely broken !
Same error message, no chance to 'regularly uninstall it', I will have to
delete the files by hand.

It finally connected to the server, uninstalled all those miktex-***
packages that were 'deprecated'.... all good,
Until I tried to compile a latex file.
Now, NOTHING WORKs, the graphics package is broken, the inputenc package is
broken, xcolor package is broken.
(those are the ones I found problems so far...)

In november quite a number of packages have been reorganized. You
are probably missing the new ones.

Go to the package manager, synchronize and then check for new
packages.
