[MiKTeX] help with tabling (dcolumn)

I am using the dcolumn package to align the decimal points in my
table. I want to highlight a couple of the cells in the table either
by changing the font color or using a red ellipse.

The issue seems to be that the dcolumn package can't deal with a
decimal inside another command that requires {} unless it is
\multicolumn. For example it gets hung up on

\color{red}{0.05}

as an entry in the tabling structure.

Any suggestions on how to get around this issue would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Daniel

Did you get an answer on this one?

I have run into the same sort of problem and have opted to change the
column where the colour is being used from d{} to c.

I did get a reply but it didn't work the way I wanted.

I have done something similar to you and worked around the problem as
best I can. Since only a couple of numbers in my tables have color I
align the decimal and then use the \multicolumn command for the few
numbers I want in color... I then line up these numbers manually using
\hspace. It is not ideal but it works well enough for now.

This is not a miktex specific question. So it is better to ask e.g.
on comp.text.tex. You should also make a small, complete example that
demonstrates the problem so that people can test solutions.
